Happy 2 year Anniversary to Mary and Matt!

Hey everyone,

Hope your weekend was good…Mine was great but i seriously don’t know where all the time went…Well, at least I know some time during this weekend, I made this card for my friend Mary and her bf Matt.

The sketch of the card us based on one of the fabulous cards over at Maile’s blog. You can check her out here.

Mary told me she loves neutrals and she wanted the card to be simple and sweet. Mary thinks the card is good but here is your turn to be the judge :-)

image

Background is heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I used Sassafras Lass’s Tag-a-licious stampset

For the sentiment, I continue to take full advantage out of my Hero Arts’s all occasion messages stampset. I cut to separate the 2 words Happy Anniversary and squeeze in the number of years in the middle with my own hand writing :)

A tutorial video of this card will be up soon!

Dexter

I’m curious to know how many of my readers out there is watching Dexter?

I hope most of you do, or you’d think I’m creepy sharing this card with you. My husband and I “avoided” watching the show as long as we could. Everyone we know were talking about it. It was all over Tweeter. We just couldn’t afford to be stuck with another show after Breaking bad.

Well, let’s just say we’re stuck with Dexter now. Good thing is, we have 4 seasons to catch up. The bad thing is, we almost caught up already! :-(

I get inspired by motion pictures quite often and this is how this card was made. Last time I was making a few cards inspired by Coraline and these cards were made.

Here it is, make your analysis :-)

I got this stampset way before we started watching Dexter and it was obviously for water but why not take some advantage? :-)

The sentiment is from this Hero Arts stampset.

Hope you like it! Please tell me you know what this is about…I’m nervous :-P

Happy Birthday...

Made this card for my friend whose birthday is today!

This card is one o the largest I have ever made I think…11in x 5in. Of course it doesn’t fit in any envelope so I made one for it :-)

The card definitely has enough space for half the class to write…

Hope things are great with y’all on Friday eve! :-)

Because you're in my life...

I’m back for the 2nd time today because I can’t wait to show you this card.

I made this card for a friend who wants to send it to her fiance. “Absoeuphinic” is a word they made up together. It means “really really really happy”, isn’t it cute? Another something about the couple.

I don’t know if I have told you, but I really love making these cards that are requested. The person gave me some information that he/she wants to include in the card and I get to use it as my inspiration. How awesome is that? I feel extremely special because they let me into a part of their relationship. Whether it’s sister-sister, boyfriend-girlfriend, mother-son, mother-daughter, husband-wife, etc; they’re all very special and unique. I get to express those wonderful relationships through my creations. It’s a wonderful feeling when they tell me that they love my interpretation of the information!

Well, this is another one of those:

Quite a few products are used on this card. It’s flooded with embellishments. It’s full of cute, happy little things. I have a video for this so I will definitely have all the products listed out for you!

Well, hope you like it!

Up cycling maps!

I’m here again! :-)

I’m here to share with you a small, very small DIY I just did. Using maps to wrap gifts. I thought this might be useful as Valentine’s day is coming up.

image

I used to use subway maps…they make awesome gift wrapping papers. I live in Antigua now so an Antiguan map is appropriate :-)

image

The ribbon bow is totally optional as the pattern on the maps already make your gift look interesting.

Using maps as gift wrapping papers is even more fun when you want to give souvenirs. You can certainly accompany your gift with the actual map of the place you got the gift from! Isn’t fun?

Turtle love card!

Hello!

How are you!?

I’m back with a very interesting card! I call it the “turtle love” card. This card is a request from a friend from school. He’s FedEx-ing it home for his wife tomorrow.  Sea turtles are probably their thing. I obviously don’t know the story but the turtles were asked to be the focal point of the card. I was very excited because this is a challenge for me in many ways:

a. Turtles as Valentine’s day theme for the card

b. The combination of blue/green and pink (Pink was also asked to be on the card)

c. I’ve been dying to use my coloring technique with Gamsol and here is the chance!

image

This card is definitely not a typical Valentine’s day card but it is a success!

A how to video including the coloring process will be up soon!

Let me know what you think!

image

image

image

Here is the colored pencils set that I used for this card!

image

This is my mixing medium…look out for my video! I love love love how it works!

image

And of course nothing would happen without these paper stomps.

All these supplies can be found on dickblick.com

Until next time, enjoy your day!
