Organizing solution/ the DIY dish play along (part...
Hey guys, As promised, this is the 2nd part of this inspiration. Here is a normal tomato sauce jar. Took off the label and I hate the way it looked. I was not gonna go run it under warm water and scrape it with a knife because I have done it before and it wasn’t fun. Even after doing that, the glue still lingered around. So, annoying! Do you have a good way to do it? Enlighten me...

Organizing solution/ the DIY dish play along:...
Inspired by this episode of the DIY Dish. I made a box to store my sewing related stuff I have laying around. So, I’m showing you step by step how to do it. So, start with a cardboard box. I used paper tape to reenforce the corners and the base to make sure it’s sturdy enough in case I abuse it with many things. You can see here that I tape all four covers of the box to make a...

Sewing project: Second take on the cosmetic bag
You guys, It’s so much better now that I know the idea behind constructing something of this sort. You can tell the difference from this one and my first take, right? Straighter lines, more even corners,… and I added a lollipop flower :-) Now I can give this one as a gift!

Jewelry making
Some of you may know I was an art minor in college. I took a bunch of jewelry making classes and my friends were sick of me walking around with all my tools like wires and jump-rings… :) I also took ceramics and spent every chance I got in the studio making all kind of fun stuff. When ceramics and jewelry making got together, I got my babies :-) some of the pieces you’ll see here. Good...

Organizing solution: Up-cycling egg containers
You’ve seen one of these, haven’t you? I have, and I’ve also tried so hard to shove it into my trash can many times too! But I found some new use for it today. Look! The kind of egg container that I have opens up into 3 compartments like this. So I cut them out and used them separately. I used the flat top for my newly inherited vintage threads (more on this soon!) I...

Wrapping a giant box!
I love wrapping presents and receiving beautifully wrapped presents! Many people don’t agree with me as they rip the wrapping paper apart eagerly wanting to know what’s in side. I’m different. When I get a present. I look carefully at how it’s wrapped, the beautiful ribbon bow on it or any folds, pleats there are on it. I was challenged to wrap a big box last week. It was...

How-to: T-shirt reconstruction inspired by Ruffled...
Hey guys, Thank you so much for liking my T-shirt reconstruction project. I had a few requests for a post on how it was done. Luckily, I took some pictures throughout the process so now I have something to share with you. Please note that I’m only a beginner in sewing  and this is my first time making a dress.  I’m sure many things that I do here could have been done differently. I...

Update on "Protecting your precious books!"
Remember when I tried to protect all my most well loved books by covering them all using Kraft paper and the Art section of the New York Times? If you don’t, see that post here One of my concern was that the ink from the newspapers will stain your fingers. So I got a solution for that: Clear plastic! I know what you’re thinking: “Are you serious?” Yes, I am dead serious....

Sewing project: The cosmetic bag.
Saw this tutorial at Sew Like My Mom via Kristina Werner and wanted to make it so badly. It took me forever to be able to get a 14” zipper and finally do it. Here it is: I know it’s nowhere near perfect but I love it to dead :-) Never thought of making something looking so fancy! heheheh it looks like a rectangular box for crying out loud! I’m giving this baby for the...

A surprise!
A beautiful surprise was when I was just sitting there studying, it was late and my hubbie told me I got a package in the mail. “Hmmm…I didn’t order anything!” I thought to myself, but taking one look at it and I knew. It’s for ME, from my friend Charlene!!! Charlene is one of the sweetest people I have ever talked to and I so look forward to seeing her in person one...

Sewing project: The butter cup clutch
Picking up on my first real sewing project :-) Fixing & hemming old clothes don’t count and being afraid to cut apart husband’s T-shirts are not too cool either. Though, I have to say that I did make a yoga mat’s bag (and it wasn’t that bad), but to me, it is not a real cutting, pinning, ironing and sewing experience. Here it is: So, to start, I got the beautiful...

The simple things in life: Breakfast
First of all, does this egg look weird to you?  Well, it tasted delicious! so i guess we don’t mind its shape…anymore! Do you like Jasmine tea? I drink Jasmine tea religiously :-) and currently, this is the kind I like! It’s really expensive but some how it reminds me of Lunar new year’s morning, drinking tea, eating sweets and talk about new year plans…I only...
